Frequently asked questions
- How and when do I enroll my child?
- We have rolling enrollment which means it can occur at any time during the year when a family is seeking child care and an opening in our program meets that need. A contact form is filled out by the parents when they want to be considered for enrollment and an administrator of the center will contact you when there is an opening. There may or may not be a waiting list for the specific class that is age appropriate for your child. We recommend filling out a contact form as soon as you know you will need care. There is no cost for being on our wait list.
- Can I come by for a tour?
- We encourage parents to come for a tour before signing up your child. It is the best way to get a sense for our program. Tours are given between 7:20 am - 5:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Financing and Tuition
- When is tuition due?
- Tuition is due the first day of the week your child attends and is considered late Wednesday at 6pm.
- Can I pay monthly?
- Tuition is charged weekly; to pay by the month, count the Mondays in that month and multiply by the weekly rate.
- Do you take credit cards?
- At this time we do not take credit cards, but automatic payments through your bank are accepted.
- Do siblings get a discount?
- The tuition cost is based on a per child fee and therefore we do not offer a sibling discount. However, we do give priority enrollment to siblings.
- Do I have to pay when my child is on vacation or sick?
- Tuition is due whether your child attends or not. However, a one week vacation credit is given for preschool students that have been in attendance for a full year.
- Do you offer scholarships?
- We have a scholarship program for families currently enrolled in our program for temporary financial relief. No ongoing scholarships are available. We do accept subsidized child care arrangements through public and private sources.
- Can I switch my days?
- You can add extra days to your schedule as enrollment allows, paying an extra day fee, but the switching of days is not allowed without two week notice and as a permanent change.

- What is the relationship between the Center for Children (CFC) and La Crescenta Presbyterian Church (LCPC)?
- The CFC is a ministry of LCPC. A committee made up of church members helps guide the direction, policies and philosophies of the CFC. Ultimately the Session of the church is the governing board of the CFC. The CFC is charged with meeting its own financial needs and it is not charged with supporting the financial needs of LCPC.
- Does my child need to be potty trained? Do you potty train?
- Your child does not need to be potty trained to be in our program. We will assist families in that endeavor when the family has been actively working toward that goal.
- Do you have a half day program?
- All of our programs are based on a 7:00 am - 6:00 pm schedule, except Developmental kindergarten which is 8:30 am - 1:00 pm. You may bring your child any time during those hours, but there is no reduction in fees for fewer hours.
- Does my child have to nap?
- Regulations state that children through the preschool experience must have an undisturbed time of resting each afternoon. We provide children a quiet time from approximately 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm in our toddler to preschool classrooms. Children do not need to sleep but need to rest quietly for an hour an then may play on the mats/cots with a quiet toy or book.
- What does pick-and-choose day camp mean?
- We allow families in our summer day camp to choose the weeks and days their child will attend. This gives the family flexibility to plan vacations and take advantage of other opportunities for summer fun.
- Can they bring their own food?
- You can bring your own food, however there is no reduction in tuition. We encourage you to allow children to try school food. We will work with families with children that have food allergies.
